
Welcome to Year 4
Welcome to Year 4, we have two classes which are 4S and 4E. Our children will have PE every Tuesday and Wednesday during Summer Term. Homework and reading records will be collected on Mondays, and homework is handed out on Thursdays.

20/10/25
This week year 4 have written their own cultural story based on 'Moana'. They explored cultural features and created their own ideas based on her adventures. The children showed great creativity and enthusiasm in their writing! We have had an excellent and busy half term and the children have shown great resilience. We look forward to the next half term!

Our Year 4 children had a fantastic day at Woodlands this week, from mini medics and archery to kayaking and tackling woodlands explorer!

To celebrate European languages day, the children learnt more about the languages spoken across different countries in Europe and facts about those places. They had the opportunity to create their own hand, which represents the languages that they speak, as well as facts about their culture.

The children have settled in well and they have had a great first full week back!
We have been very busy starting our new topic 'Electricity' in science. The children explored new vocabulary linking to the topic and had to find the definitions for different key words. Also, the children looked at different electrical appliances and sorted them into whether they are mains powered, battery powered or both.

This week, Year 4 have practised different sculpting techniques in art using salt dough, which they will use when they create their own Greek Theatre Masks. The children were then able to apply the techniques to create recognisable forms.

This week, Year 4 have been very busy in science. The children explored different circuits and had to identify and predict whether the circuit would work or not and explain why. They had the opportunity to make the different circuits, to test to see whether their predictions were correct.

The children have been busy this week! In PE, the children explored different rotation jumps during gymnastics, as well practising their catching skills in netball. Also, in art this week, the children have continued to explore Greek Theatre Masks, where they compared two different masks and identified the colours, patterns and shapes that were used.

A new school year has begun! We’re so happy to welcome all our children back and look forward to the adventures, challenges, and successes ahead.
