This week in pathway, the children demonstrated their fine motor skills by engaging in a hands on activity. Each child had the opportunity to paint their own pumpkin, exploring colours. We also opened the pumpkin so that they could see and feel what was inside. This was a sensory rich activity where they all stayed engaged by showing an interest in the texture, taste and smell.

This week in Pathway the children demonstrated excellent fine motor and problem solving skills, as they carefully used their hands to fill moulds with sand. They confidently turned the moulds upside down, showing an understanding of how to use a mould to create a shape.

This week our Pathway children had a parent workshop, going on a sensory bear hunt!

Thank you to our parents for joining the workshop. It was wonderful to watch you engage with the sensory activities while stepping into the ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ story. We hope these sensory techniques will be helpful for you at home.

This week in Pathway, we brought the sensory story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to life through a variety of hands on activities. The children got involved in sensory exploration as they journeyed through different environments from the story. We used green paper for grass, edible mud, and soft white paper that represented snow.

This week in Pathway, the children took part in a collaborative art experience, this activity supported their sensory needs. We laid a large roll of paper across the floor and placed blobs of paint throughout. The children then explored using paintbrushes and various painting tools. We played calming, soothing music in the playground.

This week in Pathway we continued our 'Going on a Bear Hunt' story.. Children also made bear shaped sandwiches, adding a creative and tasty twist to the sensory story. It’s been a fun and engaging week in Pathway!

We baked bear shaped cookies, which demonstrated their fine motor and listening skills.

The children in Pathway have had a brilliant first week and settled well into their class.
