Welcome to Year 3, we have two classes which are 3A and 3Q. Our children have PE every Wednesday and Thursday. Homework and reading records will be collected on Mondays, and homework is handed out on Thursdays.

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable half term break. It’s been lovely to welcome the children back to school, refreshed and ready for another busy and exciting half of the term ahead. We are looking forward to lots of learning, fun activities, and new achievements in the weeks to come.

We had a wonderful week full of excitement and celebration. Our book fair was a great success, helping us raise valuable funds to support new books for the school. We also enjoyed learning about and celebrating Eid with some of our children, sharing in the joy and traditions of this special occasion.

This week in Year 3, children are exploring a range of non chronological reports. Children discussed language and structural features.

This week in PE we developed our skills in badminton. We learned how to hold the racquet correctly, and even practised the following techniques (forward and backward hit).

This week in Year 3 for Art, children created a rainforest collage based on the artwork made by Henri Rousseau. Children created a middle ground, foreground and background using a variety of paper, animals and plants and cotton pads.

This week in literacy we were learning about playscripts and acted out a scene from the Lion King. We then performed it to the rest of the class.

This week in Art we painted the colour wheel by effectively colour mixing primary colours to make secondary and tertiary colours. We then challenged ourselves and created complementary colours.

For Science this week, children explored vocabulary linked to their new Science topic of 'Rocks'. Children matched the key vocabulary to the correct definition

To finish our Persuasive text topic in Literacy, children are writitng their own persuasive text on why we should save the ocean

This week we had a special guest come in who taught us a lot of facts about black history month and as a class we learnt an African dance.

This week in year 3 for literacy children have been exploring a range of persuasive texts for our new topic. Children looked at features such as Rhetorical questions, exaggerated language and facts.

The wait is over—school is back! We can’t wait to see our students’ smiling faces as we start another year full of fun, friendship, and learning.

Our Year 3 and 4 classes took part in two fantastic workshops delivered by Compass this week, helping pupils better understand and manage their worries and self-esteem. The children were highly engaged throughout.
Year 3 pupils had a fun time creating Stone age huts as part of their history topic. We produced some amazing work!

This week in Geography we explored a range of maps and specifically identified the main rivers in East Anglia.

This week in music we started to practise how to play the song 'birds can fly' on the Glockenspiels. Then, in groups we had a go playing a part of the song.

In Spanish this week, children looked at classroom instructions. Children gave their partner an instruction in Spanish for their partner to follow.

In Science, children are looking at their new topic of 'Forces and Magnets'. To introduce the topic, children looked at vocabulary linked to the topic and had a go at sorting out the vocabulary and the definition using their knowledge organisers.

This week in Y3, to wrap up our topic in Literacy on Instructions. Children wrote their own set of instructions on how to make a paper airplane.

This week in Geography we were learning about the global goals and created a whole paper chain stating reasons how we can achieve this goal.

To start off our Geography topic on 'Rainforests' Y3 looked at the Amazon River and countries and cities in North and South America
