Year 3 had an exciting visit from the Rainforest Man this week. They discovered interesting facts about the rainforest and its animals, enjoyed having their faces painted and got to meet a range of amazing animals

This week in Year 3, the children have been comparing two poems in Guided Understanding. They have been exploring and identifying the language techniques used in both poems. 

This Week in Maths, Year 3 have been learning about number lines and how to estimate where numbers are and the rule of the intervals and differences.

This week in Geography we have been exploring North and South America. The children in Year 3 have been able to label a map with different colours, outlining the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. 

This week, our Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 pupils took part in an exciting African dance workshop in honour of Black History Month.

The children had the opportunity to explore African dance, rhythm and movement, experiencing a vibrant and engaging way to celebrate African culture and heritage. They enthusiastically joined in with the activities, developing their coordination, confidence and appreciation of different cultural traditions.

This week in Year 3, the children have been working on persuasive writing techniques and features. They have explored the use of rhetorical questions and exaggerated language. 

This week the children in Year 3 learnt about different food groups and balanced diets. They designed their own food plates to show understanding on identifying the different food groups.

Year 3 have made an excellent start to the new school year!

Our first two days have been filled with smiles as the children settled into their new classroom, met their teacher and began learning about the exciting year ahead. Everyone has shown a positive attitude and has worked hard to follow our new routines.

We can't wait to see all that Year 3 will achieve this year.
