World Book Day 2019
It was World Book Day at Canterbury Cross. Well done to all staff and students! Fantastic effort.
Year 5 Canterbury Cross team came 4th in the Borcherd's Shield Maths Competition at King Edwards School. The team was Ibraheem, Daniyal, Sabaah and Muhammed. We are very proud of their amazing maths!
Captain Morgan - The Maths Pirate!
Captain Morgan - the Maths pirate - visited Canterbury Cross and the children took part in the pirates Maths challenge. The children were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed the workshop as they worked in teams to solve problems to help Captain Morgan get back to his crew on The Good Ship Mathematics.
The captain was super impressed with the Mathematical knowledge and resilience the children had shown throughout the day. It really was a fun, creative way to do Maths!
Rememberance Day 2018
Today, Firday 9th November 2018, we commemorated the 100 years of the end of the First World War. We wore an item of red to symbolise the poppy; every child made a poppy and put it in front of our memorial board; Also, every child blew bubbles to the sky to remember those who fell. We held a two minute silence to reflect.
Unicef - Rights Respecting School Award
We are delighted to announce we have received the Unicef Recognition of Commitment Award. This is the first step on our journey to achieving the Rights Respecting Award. Over the coming year, the whole school focus will revolve around the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We will be sharing all the details in September, but we are very proud of what we have achieved so far.
