Six year 5 children took part in an enrichment project-Film School at King Edwards High School, and learnt many new skills, as well as making a short film. The children who took part were Habibur, Idrees, Adam, Sameer, Arooj and Alishba.
Four Year 4 children took part in the King Edwards School maths competition and we came second. This is our best ever result and we could get to the final in January. The children had a great time and were brilliant representatives of Canterbury Cross. The children were: Hussain, Moosa, Riyan and Fatima.
Rememberance Day 2018
Today, Firday 9th November 2018, we commemorated the 100 years of the end of the First World War. We wore an item of red to symbolise the poppy; every child made a poppy and put it in front of our memorial board; Also, every child blew bubbles to the sky to remember those who fell. We held a two minute silence to reflect.
Unicef - Rights Respecting School Award
We are delighted to announce we have received the Unicef Recognition of Commitment Award. This is the first step on our journey to achieving the Rights Respecting Award. Over the coming year, the whole school focus will revolve around the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We will be sharing all the details in September, but we are very proud of what we have achieved so far.
